I have been fortunate enough to have been able to travel to many awesome locations all around this amazing globe. But like any other person who loves to travel, I’m always ready to plan a new trip. Always looking ahead for my next adventure.
I think I have a problem, but a good problem. I am addicted to traveling.
My goal for 2015 is to travel and write new posts for your reading pleasure. To make that happen, I need to travel to new and exciting destinations.
Here is my list for 2015.
1 – Vietnam
Out of all the places in the world I would love to visit, Vietnam is first.
I don’t know much about the country other than of its past violent history. I have always thought of the country as a mix of Thailand and Cambodia, both of which I have been to and have enjoyed.
The history, the food, the sights, the culture, the mountains, the beaches, and the people are all exciting to me. In addition, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Long Bay, and Sapa all look amazing to me.
I hope I can finally cross Vietnam off my list in 2015.
2 – Istanbul
For the past two years, I have tried to plan Istanbul into my itinerary but each time plans have changed. Until now…I will visit Istanbul in 2015.
Istanbul, once known as Constantinople, is today the largest city in Turkey. Its amazing history dates back thousands of years. The city was once the capital of four empires : Roman, Byzantine, Latin, and Ottoman.
My only problem with traveling to Istanbul is deciding how to plan my days with so many sights. The list of must see sights in astonishing with Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque at the top.
Don’t even get me started on Turkish food. The trip is worth it just for the food which is influenced by western and eastern flavors. Kebabs, baklava, olive oil, and all sorts of meats, cheeses and breads. I’m hungry just thinking about it.
Over 11 million foreign visitors passed through Istanbul in 2012. Time for me to be added to this total for 2015.
3 – Vancouver
Seattle, Portland, and anywhere in the Pacific Northwest are some of my favorite places to visit anywhere in the world. Just something about the ocean and the mountains.
Strangely, though, I have never been to Vancouver which is only a few hours flight from my home in Los Angeles.
If you love the outdoors, odds are you also want to visit Vancouver like me. Only a couple hours away from downtown is
Whistler, with some of the best snowboarding in the world. Big plus for me.
Vancouver also has an interesting food scene packed with food trucks on every corner. If food trucks isn’t your thing, you will find some amazing seafood.
I will finally cross Vancouver off my list in 2015, or maybe even before.
4 – Nashville
Other than country music, the only things I have heard about Nashville are from a few of my friends that have lived in the city known as “Music City”.
Nashville is best known for country music and live performances.
Other than the music, I’m dying to try some good southern country cooking along with fried chicken, fish, and barbecue that really isn’t found on the west coast.
5 – Alaska
Hawaii and Alaska take about the same amount of hours to reach from California by plane. I have been to Hawaii multiple times but never once to Alaska. I have no answer why.
I love the outdoors and nature, so I am truly surprised why I have never visited.
I don’t really know much else about the state up north, but I think I will just land at the airport, rent a car, and drive as far as I can and take in as much as I can.
Glaciers, camping, fishing, snowboarding, outdoors, bears. It doesn’t get any better.
A few things I would love to see on a trip to Alaska are Denali National Park, the Seward Highway, and if I am lucky, a glacier.
Conclusion
Well this is my list of places I would love to travel to in 2015. Odds are I won’t be able to visit all these places but one can dream. Either way, I look forward to traveling and adding new blogs about my adventures whenever I can. Stay tuned…
